the fire in the madhouse at the end of time

on the full moon in aries and what emerges when things get weird

Today’s audio message is a quick sermon birthed from processing last week’s full moon in Aries and thinking about all of the Aries energy that has been and is going to be blasting us into the stratosphere. Just think about it: Since July 2023 the north node (point of destiny) has been in Aries. Chiron (asteroid of teachable core wounds) has been in Aries since 2018 and will be until 2026/2027, and next year Saturn (planet of refinement and mastery) and Neptune (planet of imagination and illusion) will be moving into Aries as well. We’re learning big lessons about breaking free from co-dependence, owning our expression, and waking the fuck up now. We need bold action, big hearts, and unapologetic free-thinking right now. The directive of this cardinal energy: Don’t wait………create.

Prayer of the week:

Psalm 37: On Sunday I invited some friends and then later a wider audience to join me in prayer for Palestine by lighting a candle and reading from Psalm 37. If you feel so called please do participate still, Palestine needs our prayers and action right now. Pray with us and let it be so:

“The [Creator] knows the days of the blameless,

and their heritage will remain forever;

they are not put to shame in evil times;

in the days of famine they have abundance.” - Psalm 37

On a social and pop culture note, here are some other things I have been into lately -

Things I’ve watched and enjoyed this week:

Terence McKenna on how fucking weird and scary and tragic and beautiful it gets as we birth great change (1998), from which I got the subject line for this week’s newsletter: “I think it’s just going to get weirder and weirder and weirder and finally it’s going to be so weird that people are going to have to talk about how weird it is……This is what it’s like when a species prepares to depart for the stars. You don’t depart for the stars under calm and orderly conditions, it’s a fire in the madhouse. And that’s what we have, the fire in the madhouse at the end of time.”

Queen of the Damned (2002) - My third time seeing it, first time was when it came out in theaters and then one other time a couple years ago. It’s campy, it’s sexy, it’s unintentionally silly. Jonathan Davis of Korn being the singing voice of Stuart Townsend’s Lestat is a surprising stroke of genius. RIP BABY GIRL BETTER KNOWN AS AALIYAH ALWAYS AND FOREVER!!

Cabin in the Woods (2011) - I’ve also seen this a few times. Funny, gruesome, a meta commentary on horror and the end of the world. Yes Joss Whedon sucks but this movie just simply works. After years and years of being an edgelord, I have a hard time watching horror these days so I felt kinda weird and anxious after it because of all of the violence (I’m really just a widdle sensitive baby after all), but it was still fun.

Silver Springs live by Fleetwood Mac (1997) - I am late to the Fleetwood Mac game, which I know will be surprising to many as evidenced by my friends’ reactions when I finally started getting serious about getting into them a few months ago. I started coming around years ago after this meme (you know the one), but I didn’t really dive in. I had always associated Fleetwood Mac with classic rock compilation CD commercials from the 90s because that was the only time I ever heard them growing up - I was raised listening to R&B and soul, so classic rock has never really been my thing. Don’t come for me white witches!! Anyway, there’s truly nothing better than discovering something new to you and getting to go down new rabbit holes. Love this iconic live version of this song. Love the prophetic Stevie Nicks singing to Lindsey Buckingham: “You will never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you.” Imagine the gumption you have to have to write that as a young woman. So badass. I know you all know this, I’m just catching up.

Chicken Shop Date with Andrew Garfield (2024) - I did not give a single solitary fuck about Andrew Garfield until this year when I heard about him being into astrology and publicly dating a witch. But I love the chemistry between him and Amelia Dimoldenberg. I’m all in on this, even if it’s all just an act. Background context (their first meeting) if you’re not caught up (their second). NOW KISS!!
